Donald Trump on Monday showed his displeasure with the restaurant , which denied his press secretary , Sarah Huckabee Sanders, service over the weekend .
In his customary fashion on Twitter , Trump ranted and called the eatery in Lexington , Virginia , “dirty . ”
He wrote: ‘ I always had a rule , if a restaurant is dirty on the outside , it is dirty on the inside !
The Red Hen Restaurant should focus more on cleaning its filthy canopies , doors and windows (badly needs a paint job ) rather than refusing to serve a fine person like Sarah Huckabee Sanders. I always had a rule , if a restaurant is dirty on the outside, it is dirty on the inside!
He added the establishment “ should focus more on cleaning its filthy canopies , doors and windows ( badly needs a paint job ) rather than refusing to serve a fine person like Sarah Huckabee Sanders. ”
But not everyone agreed . Actually, most people thought Red Hen management were heroes for ordering Mrs Huckabee Sanders to leave , reports Metro UK.
The restaurant’ s co- owner Stephanie Wilkinson revealed her reasons for throwing out , Trump ’ s Press Secretary included the concerns of gay employees , who were unhappy Sanders had defended Trump ’ s desire to bar transgender people from the military . “Tell me what you want me to do . I can ask her to leave, ” Ms Wilkinson told her staff , according to the Washington Post .
After they told her yes, she calmly asked Mrs Huckabee Sanders to exit the premises , which she did without any incident .
Since the incident, the restaurant ’ s website has been flooded with five - star reviews.
But Trump , Huckabee Sanders and GOP supporters are still seething at what they see as intolerance from the restaurant
