Religious leaders in the country have been told to always strive and preach sermons that will unite us as a nation as the 2019 general elections is fast approaching.
Prophet Ademola Amos Elijah the General Overseer of Isaiah Chapter 43. Vs 4 Ministries in Asero Abeokuta, the Ogun State Chapter said this while having a chat with some journalists at the Church premises in Abeokuta.
Evangelist Ademola Amos said as Ministers of God, Pastors and other men of God are supposed to be a good example to their followers and be an agent of light.
He condenmed the situations where clergymen put monetary matters above spiritual, warnings that it may bomeerange in the future.
His words, " There is a diversion now because of money, these leaders run down to Ministers of God for prayers, and their request is I want to make it by all means, I don't care what is going to take me and they will tell the Minister of God, I am goimg to pay so and so amout of money, and at the end of the day, they will forget their cross, the agreement that they had withGod".
"Immediately we forget agreement between us and our God, there is problem. And it is because these politicians and evil people in the society have us as backbones that is why they begin to misbehave".
"They will go to the Alfas, to the Pastors and you will see the Pastors even in the Church announcing for them that you must vote for this person and by so doing these, we are fighting our heavens, because we are bringing corruption into the Church, by bringing corruption into the Church, we are telling the people in the Church that they are not save anymore that you can also go and steal in as much you can bring your tithe .
The General Overseer of Isaiah 43 vs 4 condemned the act saying "that is why in so many churches now, when a young boy is doing well, the Pastor will not ask him where did he get the money. it is very detrimental to the fight against corruption and other vices in the society"..
Commenting on the prophecy of some Men of God who said God had told them to go into politics and contest, Prophet Amos said "If God have said anything like that, it will come to pass but for God to prove himself that He is not a man that is Why he made them fail".
"When ever you say what God have not made you say, He would come and prove to you that I did not ask you to say that".
"Like a man that wanted to contest along with the President as a Vice President some years ago, he has a very good ministry, but at the end of the day, they failed. When they failed, the other said maybe it's not yet time, forgetting that he told us that God wanted him to go and join politics.
God will never ask you to go into darkness, He is a God of light and whenever He said you should go for anything, He would not change it, so God will not ask you to go into darkness, there is nowhere God asked Pastors to go into Politics".
Speaking on the Mission of the Church, Prophet Amos said "It is to deliver people from bondage under the banner of Jesus Christ
