2019: Oro ethnic group protests to Buhari, Tinubu, APC on A’Ibom gov slot

The Oro ethnic group in Akwa Ibom has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will lose the 2019 general elections in the state if it fails to field a governorship candidate of Oro extraction in 2019 general election.

The group under the aegis of Oro Mandate urged President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the party’s leadership at all levels to ensure that the Oro tribe produces the next governor of the state.
In a release signed by the group’s President-General, Mr. Eteyen Ukpong and made available to our correspondent at the weekend, the group lamented that Oro-speaking people, the third largest ethnic group in the state, has never produced a governor since the creation of the state in 1987.
