The Proprietor of Apex Schools, Sabo, Sagamu and President of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Ogun State Chapter, Prince Adesanya Oduala has named a newly constructed block of classrooms in his school after the foremost educationist, Late Dr. Abayomi Jiboku.
Commissioning the building during the 17th Graduation Ceremony of Apex Nursery and Primary School held inside the school premises in Sabo area of Sagamu Ogun State, Sir, Dr. Feyisayo Soyewo MFR described the initiative as a true reflection of the management's crave for a befitting, conducive learning environment, and a strong belief in the legacy of Late Abayomi Jiboku.
The Proprietor, Prince Adesanya Samuel Oduala said the idea was one of the ways he considered apt to immortalise his predecessor (Jiboku) who stood firm as a symbol of "justice", integrity and standard as well as educationist per excellence with genuine love and care for all and sundry, especially children.
In separate response, children of the honouree, Messers Idowu and Obawunmi Jiboku lauded the management of Apex Schools for conceptualising the idea and delivering it in the name of their father whose lifetime was devoted to moulding lives and teaching with passion.
The Jibokus however advised the school to make judicious use of the classrooms, with quality teaching which their father represented.
In her address, the Proprietress, Mrs. Olayemi Oduala charged the pupils especially those graduating to make it a point of duty to respect their parents and constituted authority, determine to succeed, remain diligent and be morally upright.
Earlier in his opening speech, the chairman of the occasion, Sir. (Dr.) Feyisayo Soyewo MFR advised the graduands to avoid greed and have the fear of God in all their undertakings. He also commended Prince Oduala for maintaining decorum in the State Chapter of NAPPS while asking members to sustain the noticeable unity among them.
Meanwhile, adding colour to the event was a special award presentation by the Proprietor to a former pupil of the school, Miss Motilayo Fabowale who emerged as the overall best candidate in the 2016/2017 Common Entrance Examination in Ogun State.
In the same vein, the Proprietor appreciated the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for sponsoring Miss Fabowale's educational trip to Morocco and USA.
At the occasion, Miss Motilayo Fabowale received a scholarship award courtesy Feyisara Foundation, an NGO founded by the Chairman of the occasion, Sir Dr. Feyisayo Soyewo.
The Graduation ceremony which drew notable personalities from different walks of life also featured distribution of prizes and certificates to deserving pupils, as well as cultural display and musical presentations.
