Owner of Fresh FM radio station, Mr Yinka Ayefele has held a meeting with the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi in an attempt to resolve issues that led to the partial demolition of the station last sunday.
The meeting, which also had in attendance the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi and other traditional rulers in the state, was held at the governor's office, secretariat, Ibadan.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Ayefele explained that he regretted not coming to meet the governor in person instead of sending some governor aides who allegedly failed to deliver his messages.
Mr Ayefele also described as untrue the claims that he did not respond to the letters served his radio station, noting that he had even began to take steps to revalidate the plan for the building before he got the demolition notice.
Reacting, Governor Ajimobi insisted that government did not have anything against Mr Ayefele or the radio station, but the building which had contravened the law.
Governor Ajimobi stated that what should be done now was to find ways of reconciling the issue, urging Mr Ayefele and management of the radio station to do the needful.
Meanwhile, our correspondent reports that the meeting continued between Mr Ayefele with some of his staff and officials of the state government after the governor took his leave.
However, attempt to interview Mr Ayefele after the meeting ended was unsuccessful as he refused to speak to newsmen.
A committee comprises of both parties has been set up to resolve the issue.
