The African Democratic Party (ADC) House of Representatives aspirant for Yewa North Imeko Afon Federal Constituency, Jagunmolu Jamiu Omoniyi has organised Unity and Victory Walk in the constituency.

The walk,it was gathered recorded a large turnout of supporters and a show of political strength and electoral value as the general election approaches.
At the event, Omoniyi received many new members that decamped from other parties into the fold of African Democratic Congress urging them to work for the victory of the ADC in the 2019 general elections.
According to the organizers, the event was put together to lubricate the oneness of the party which to many political observers is its strength since ADC as a party joined Ogun State political landscape.
The gesture was said to have shown the party’s readiness to stop at nothing but victories in the 2019 general elections both for Jagunmolu Jamiu Akande Omoniyi and the gubernatorial candidate of the ADC in Ogun State, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI).
The Imeko event also provided the people of Yewa North Imeko Afon the opportunity to show who they prefer as their next representative in Abuja starting from 2019.
It was further gathered that, despite a very short notice and the fact that the event falls on the eve of the Islamic festival of Eid El Adha, notable ADC party stalwarts, party supporters and admirers of Omoniyi trooped out in large number to show their support for his aspiration.
In his remark at the political event, the House of Representatives hopeful appreciated the huge support his aspiration has received from the people of Yewa North Imeko Afon so far.
He thanked all his supporters for their turn out, adding that they have chosen him as their next representatives.
He reiterated his commitment to redefining political representation in Yewa North Imeko Afon Federal Constituency.
Speaking further, the fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) described his aspiration as a departure from routine adding that his federal constituency needs a lot of catching up to do in the areas of growth and development.
He said he wanted to engineer and draw down the hands of the federal government to the constituency in a way that has never been seen before.
“Our case is different, ours is a marginalized constituency, a needy constituency by all meanings of the word.
"The people are poor, opportunities are rare, infrastructure where they exist are in terrible shapes.
"A representative from a constituency so described should put his home base first. Very many representatives are there to make national load light for all but you are the only one there to push for the development of your constituency.
" Facing national issues in a way that is detrimental to the growth and development of your land and people is a sin.
"There should be an end to representatives that are wasting our mandate in the pursuit of national jobs at national assembly.”
While revealing his desire for targeting the House of Representatives seat, Omoniyi said he plans to leave indelible foot print as a representative of his people such that if it will be rivalled, it will take a long time.
He encouraged his people not to give in to the antics of detractors whose goal is to perpetually enslave them and keep the federal constituency as their private empire.
He added that the repositioning of Yewa North Imeko Afon where it truly belongs as a federating unit requires someone who is tough, well educated, experienced and exposed like the ADC governorship aspirant, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka and himself.
“As an electorate I founded a non governmental charity organization by the name Fausatu Asakun Memorial Foundation.
"This foundation has impacted individuals, groups and communities across Yewa North Imeko Afon Federal Constituency with life improving programmes and projects such as scholarship for indigent students, provision of potable water in communities where the essential element is scarce, skill acquisition training for the unemployed, financial empowerment for widows, funding of school essential facilities such as clinic in our schools, supporting extra curricular activities like inter house sports competition among others.
"If as a private son of Yewa North Imeko Afon Federal Constituency I have done these for years, it should be proof enough that my venture into politics and aspiration to represent my federal constituency was not borne out of inordinate ambition
