An All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship aspirant in Ogun State, Hon. Simeon Abayomi Hunye has promised provision of jobs for employable youths and graduates in the state if elected during the 2019 general elections in the state.
Hunye, who said this while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta during his 55 birthday anniversary, promised to govern Ogun State with visionary leadership if elected as the governor.
He said, “if elected as the next governor of the state in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in 2019, I promise to bring my career experience to into governance in the state by focusing on job creation for thousands of employable youths and graduates through establishment of modernized /mechanized farming and establishment of agro-allied industries.
The aspirant while lamenting the effects of ravaging abject poverty in Ogun West Senatorial District of the state where he hails from, which he alleged was compounded by failure of the successful governments in the state, added that lack of industries to generate employment for thousands of jobless graduates in the state is a product of bad governance resulting from poor priority setting and financial mismanagement by successful governments in the state.
According to him,”with focus on modernized farming and industrialization, the present pains in Ogun West Senatorial District and the state in general would be a thing of the past, promising to provide genuine, credible, visionary and pragmatic leadership."
He pledged to eradicate poverty and as well provide security, health, education, food, employment, water, electricity and roads to boost the living standards of the people in the state.
While speaking on the likelihood adoption of “Direct Primary system” in choosing the party flag bearer for the forthcoming election in the state as demonstrated in Osun State, Hunye said the system will allow every card-carrying member of the party to participate in the process of nominating the flag bearer of the party.
He said, “This for me, is the most democratic way to conduct party primary and with it, the most popular candidate will emerge and the person will enjoy the support of the majority”.
The whole idea of that is that the method will allow our party members to participate in the process of nominating candidates, we will remove the issue of corruption or monetizing the processes of nominating unpopular candidates, and party members will have a sense of ownership of the outcome of the exercise.
