Reps aspirant commends INEC over voter registration extension

An aspirant for the Remo Federal Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for extending the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise till end of August, 2018.

He gave the commendation when he received the intent form at the party's secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Oluwole said the extension will enable more Nigerians take part more actively in the 2019 general elections.

It will be recalled that the electoral umpire shifted the CVR to 31 August, 2018.

According to him, "I am here to collect my form of intent to contest as a member of the House of Representatives, Remo Federal Constituency under the umbrella of PDP.

"I think it is a great opportunity for the indigenes of Remo, Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole."

Oluwole enjoined the electorate to make use of the opportunity in collecting the cards in order not to be disenfranchised during the 2019 polls.

He said, "we know people want change, they don't want this government anymore but you can't do anything without your voter's card. You can only effect the change you clamour for with your permanent voter's card.

"I want to enjoin everybody to go and get their PVC's because there is opportunity for us now. We have two more weeks.

"INEC has done well and it is still on till end of August, 2018.

"So I want everyone to go and get their PVC's because every is claiming that this government had failed and they want change. Not the fake change that happened earlier but the real change.

The state chairman of the party, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele, who presented the aspirant with the form, also lauded INEC's decision extend the deadline of the registration.

Ogundele described the PVC's as one of the most-valued asset in the country today.

He then called on well-Nigerians to join hands in unseating the APC-led government at the centre.

His words, "It is a very good idea and good development because there are some people that have not been able to get that card. But now that it is being extended, it will give the opportunity to those that have not gotten that card to get it.

"The card in Nigeria today has been considered to be a weapon and tool to change the negative change that we have in Nigeria.

"My appeal to the people of this country is to use the opportunity of that extension to go and get that card so as to do the needful to this government of hardship, frame up,deceit and propaganda.

"Nigerians are not feeling fine, they are not enjoying governance. The government of the day has been known to be of fury and empty noise of no significant impact on the lives of Nigerians.

"So this card is very important in the live of this country. They should just go and use the opportunity of this extension to get that card and do justice to this irresponsible and irresponsive government of APC".
