By Gbenga Sodeinde, Ado Ekiti

Honorable Wunmi Olubunmi Ogunlola is a respected member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti state, whose commitment to the course of the party has not gone unnoticed by party members and leaders alike.

The leadership quality and the sterling character of the Ijero Ekiti-born politician explained why many people in the State and particularly those from Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 2, comprising of Ijero, Efon and Ekiti West see her her as a dependable person to represent their interest at the National Assembly come 2019.

Mrs Ogunlola is described as a reliable, tested and trusted woman of substance with hallmarks of good moral, ethical, upright, honourable, excellence, pure, worthy, honest, righteous, exemplary, and squeaky-clean which are qualities of a woman of virtue.

These qualities, no doubt, qualifies to be in forefront of any leadership role as a woman ambassador to go and represent the people's voice at the House of Representatives lower chamber in 2019 and beyond.

She also possesses outstanding qualities of loyalty and integrity that could be used to assess any one nursing the ambition of occupying such position at the lower Chamber of the National Assembly she is aspiring to go for now.

According to Grant D. Searchfield “A successful life is not an easy life. It is built on strong qualities, sacrifice, endeavor, loyalty and integrity.”

Also, Dr. Bill Tollefson said, "Loyalty is the highest virtue thought by abusers, and used as a control tool.” and Richard E. Grant noted “I place an enormous premium on loyalty. If someone betrays me, I can forgive them rationally, but emotionally I have found it impossible to do so.”

As honourable member of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mrs Ogunlola, remained loyal to the party at a very difficult time where she could have betrayed her leaders the way other women who were given the opportunity to serve in same capacity as her, did in the state fourth Assembly but she chose to toe the part of honour then and never derail up till this day.

Apart from these, Barr. Ogunlola did not let down her constituents at any point while representing them in the House of Assembly, rather she was involved in every creation and making of laws for the development of Ekiti state and giving the required and necessary support to the state government to ensure greater Ekiti.

Among bills sponsored by her then was the bill that gave hope to the people with disabilities in the state.

She is also  known to be passionate about seeing that the rights of women, the youths and the generality of the people are promoted unhindered.

Mrs Ogunlola is also committed to being the voice to the voiceless at the highest level of Law making, and she has empowered several people of her constituency and beyond in the state during her days at the State House of Assembly.

Being a good team player with a strong analytical mind, her good interpersonal skill is attested to by all and sundry making her a well sought after mother, daughter, friend and companion with bold, strong, courageous and good sense of humour.

Also, prior to her joining politics, she was a principal Registrar in the Judiciary of Ekiti State.

On assuming duty as a member of Ekiti State House of Assembly, due to her exemplary maturity and virtues which endeared her to the heart of her fellow legislators, providence bestowed on her the position of the Chief Whip and Chairman, House Committee on Information and Civic Orientation where her performance greatly promoted gender equality and also Chairman House committee on HIV/AIDS.

Mrs Ogunlola who is one of the vocal women in Ekiti and Southwest politics is currently the South West Zonal Publicity Secretary of All Progressive Congress.

With all these outstanding qualities which she possesses, people will agree  that Hon. Ogunlola should be sent again to represent the people of Ekiti central federal constituency ll, her Party, the women, and Ekiti people at the lower chamber, Abuja as she will not disappoint.
