Politicians in Ekiti State have been enjoined to give maximum support for the reelection bid of President Muhammadu Buhari in the interest of not only Ekiti but the country at large.
Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adeniran Alagbada made the call while playing host to the Association of Political Functionaries (2004 - 2007) In Ekiti State .
Rt Hon Alagbada, who served as a councillor in Ise/Orun local government during the period, charged members of the Association to put aside their political lineage by working for the progress of the state.
He appraised the efforts of the Governor Kayode Fayemi administration in the last one month and concluded that the government was on the right path towards restoring the dignity of Ekiti people.
He enjoined the Association members to work for the victory of all APC candidates in the 2019 general elections so as to ensure a continuity of the good works.
The Assembly Speaker, who promised that members of the House will continue to work assiduously with the Ekiti governor towards ensuring the delivery of good governance to the people , charged the Association to also present a common front towards taking Ekiti to greater heights irrespective of political affiliations.
Earlier, the spokesman of the Association, Mr Olufemi Adebayo expressed joy that a member of the Association had moved higher to the position of Speaker of the state assembly.
While describing the Association as a body that comprised of all political office holders at the local government level between 2004 -2007 , Mr Adebayo assured that the Association would continue to provide support to the government when necessary.
