Contrary to insinuations in some quarters that the country may
disintegrate or go on fire after the 2019 presidential election,
prominent traditional rulefhrs in Ekiti State and a renowned seer,
Prophet Olu Alo have allayed the fears of Nigerians, saying the
nation will remain intact after the poll.
The traditional rulers , Olojudo of Ido Ekiti, Oba Idowu Faboro and
Onikun of Temidire, Oba Moses Fabusuyi as well the Prophet in charge
of Christ Apostolic Church, Land of Mercy, Erio Ekiti, Pastor Alo,
urged politicians to play by the rules and imbibe the culture of
selflessness in their services to humanity for Nigeria to be a
country its citizens can be proud of.
The trio spoke in Ido Ekiti, Ido/Osi local government area of the
state on Wednesday during an empowerment programme organized by
Pastor Alo for widows, artisans and students .
At the programme, the man of God gave cash gift and rice to 2,000
widows , paid the West African Examination Council fee for 20
students, gave school bags and books to 350 primary school pupils and
presented scores of artisans with vulcanising , grinding and sewing
machines .
Speaking at the event, the man of God counseled religious leaders
against prophesying evil for the nation, describing this as an
unpatriotic spirit that needed to be dropped for Nigeria to be great.
“The most worrisome issue to me has been that most of the religious
leaders are the greatest enemies of this nation. How can you be saying
your country we go into war or get inflamed just to create fear before
election? This is not patriotic.
“Let me say it clearly, Nigeria won’t go into war. The general
elections shall start and end well. No war will break out and I plead
with our politicians to play by the rules. I see no fire coming from
any part of the country”, he stated.
On who will win the presidential poll, Alo said : “I won’t predict who
will win, but the person will come and lay a good foundation for
Nigeria’s greatness.
“Though, he may not be the Messiah we are expecting, he will be the
man to lay a solid foundation for our generations to come.
“I will always say it clearly to Nigerians that nothing is wrong in a
president to come and use a whole four years to present a solid
foundation for our future rather than this cosmetic approach.
“Some of the advanced countries are not better than Nigeria and those
that were better had once passed through this rough road in the past
and survived , so Nigerians must learn how to endure hard times”, the
Prophet advised.
The first Class Ekiti traditional rulers said they owed the
unwavering view that Nigeria will not disintegrate as a result of
the 2019 elections, saying Nigeria’s amalgamation was of divine
arrangement.
The Olojudo of Ido Ekiti, Oba Faboro , however, appealed that
politicians must eschew do-or-die politics to forestall bloodshed in
the election.
“Most of our politicians are hustlers, they think of their pockets
alone but they have to think of how best they can develop Nigeria
through selflessness and by way of thinking of how best they can
service humanity in the most righteous way.
“Even if they can’t build roads, hospitals and industries, let them
build the people so that they can have something to be remembered.
