Ado Odo, a town in Ado- Odo /Ota Local Government area
of Ogun State was on Tuesday thrown into mourning mood following the gruesome
murder of a middle aged man, Mr Sola Odunaro by suspected cultists.
National Newspot exclusively gathered that late Sola Odunaro
was said to be having a minor disagreement with one of his friend popularly called
Azeez Gade around 9pm on Monday which
snowballed into exchange of hot words between the two.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that the
intervention of another friend, known in the area as Tunde Killer worsened the
situation as rather for him to settle the imbroglio, descended on late Odunaro
.
“The duo of Gade and Killer descended on Odunaro
heavily, they beat him with all sorts of dangerous weapons not minding the plea
from the deceased mother”.
“Before help could come, they had cut him down with
an axe. He died immediately before help could come”.
The duo of Tunde Killer and Azees Gade later fled to
an unknown place.
When Our Correspondent called the Police Public
Relation Officer in the State, Abimbola Oyeyemi for the confirmation of the
story, he was not picking his calls, but a senior Police Officer from Ado_Odo who
did not want his name in print said the Police already aware of the ugly incident.
“Yes, the Police have launched investigation into
the matter, but our initial findings showed that the suspects are cultists, but
could have warranted the killings is what we are investigating now and how to
apprehend the culprits”.
