APC floors PDP in Aso Rock

The ruling APC on Saturday defeated opposition PDP  in the two polling units located in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, during the chairmanship and councillorship elections held in the FCT.


In the two polling units— 021 and 022—the APC garnered 290 while the PDP got 132 votes in the chairmanship election.

A further breakdown of the figure showed that the APC got1 62 votes in PU 021 and 128 votes in PU 022 while PDP got 70 votes in PU 021 and 62 votes in PU 022.

For the councillorship election, the APC garnered 273 votes while the PDP got  151 votes from the two polling units.

The election inside the Presidential Villa, like in other parts of the FCT like Asokoro, Maitama and Garki areas among others, witnessed low turnout of voters.

As of 11am, three hours after voting started, the 14 voting points located on a playing field inside the Presidential Villa were devoid of huge voters that participated in the February 23 presidential and National Assembly elections.
