Encourage Youths To Be Employers Of Labour, Group Urges Govt

The Federal and State Governments have been called upon to encourage  more Youths to be employers of labour and innovative creators in order to reduce unemployment and promote economic development in the Country.


The Program Director, BenChris Development Foundation, Ms Alice Adepeju Oludimu gave the advice at a Business  Enterprise Training(BET) organised by the NGO in collaboration with Central Bank of Nigeria Business, Small and Medium Enterprise Initiatives (AGSMESIS) held at NUJ Press Centre Auditorium, Oke ilewo, Abeokuta.

According to Ms Adepeju Oludimu, the Youth are globally the driving force in economic growth and sustainable development.

She said the Business Enterprise Training was aimed at exposing Youth to Business Start up, Business Repositioning, how to write business plan and loan acquisition.

Ms Oludimu further counselled Youth to shift from writing Application Letters to writing Business Plans that are fund able and sustainable.

The CBN Agricultural Business Small Medium Enterprise initiative, according to her, is to provide access to up to Ten Million Naira Loan in the area of Agric businesses, Manufacturing, Creative industry, Petrol Chemical, ICT and other  Services with a five percent interest for a Seven Year tenure and moratorium of up to Eighteen months on Principal amount.

Dignitaries at the event include Hon Adekunle Akinlade who was represented by Chaiman, Oba LCDA, Hon Abiola Asaluola and his Obafemi LCDA, Mrs Collins.
