Muhammed Mahmood, the Chairman of Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) board, has been released by his abductors on Tuesday, along with his daughter.
Confirming the release on phone in Abuja on Tuesday, his aide, Husssain Danladi, said his boss, together with his daughter, was released about 1:30pm.
When prodded for information on how much was paid as ransom to secure his release, Danladi said no money was paid.
Mahmood and his daughter was abducted along Kaduna-Abuja road on Monday while travelling from Kaduna to Abuja, but his driver was shot dead during the operation.
