Kidnap Kingpin Nabbed By Zone 11 Of Police

One of the leaders  of Kidnappers operating in Osun and Ondo States have been apprehended by the Zone 11 of the Nigeria Police which aborted their criminal exploits and freed their victims who was working in his farm.


The suspect ,Alhaji Jimoh Adamu Omotayo has been paraded by the Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG Zone 11 ,Leye Oyebade who assured that the remaining members of Alhaji Jimoh gang would be apprehended.

AIG Oyebade disclosed that their victim,Salisu Ahmed was kidnapped in his farm at Agbeye Odo Otin in Osun State and driven to a forest at Ikare Akoko in Ondo State.

The six man kidnap gang was fully armed with locally made pistols and they  blind folded their victim who they detained for 17 days in a confinement in Ikare Akoko where they were negotiating with his relations ,he said.

The Police Boss said that intelligence report helped the security agents to arrest the kidnap leader while five of them  who escaped would soon be nabbed.

The Suspect Alhaji Jimoh promised that he would cooperate with the Police to get his colleagues adding that only One Million Naira has been taken as ransom from rerelations of their victim .

In another development,AIG Oyebade has reiterated his call for collaboration between the public and security operatives in the country in order to successfully checkmate crimes in the zone.

Oyebade who spoke during the commissioning of  a Police station at Igangan in Oyo State  on behalf of the IGP Adamu Mohammed, stated that funding of security was very expensive and should not be left with  police and government alone.

"Community policing presupposes that the people play active involvement in their own security.Such mutual understanding and collaboration must transcend mere rhetoric.

"It must be actionable, prompt,and adequate information required to combat crimes especially in this part of the world,the AIG added.
