A Fourteen year old boy, Oyelumade Oluwatimilehin Victor, of Olosun Estate, Opeoluwa, ItaOshin, Abeokuta and her mother Mrs Benedicta Adenike Oyelumade have cried out to the good spirited individuals to save them from constant family harassment due to health status of Victor.
It was gathered that Victor's father, Remi Olusegun Oyelumade and his wife, Adenike Benedicta have tried all efforts to shield the child from the family who had the belief that his sickness is responsible for the Ill luck the family is facing.
Victor, Junior Secondary school 2 student, has autism from birth but his father's family believes if they do spiritual cleansing for the boy the sickness will go.
The family believed that the sickness is spiritual and hence he is being stigmatized and this is bringing disrepute to family name.
They have been attacking the mother, Mrs Benedicta Adenike Oyelumade who had been resisting the attempt to make his son go through the harrowing experience of the cleansing because according to information she gathered, few people survives such cleansing.
Due to her failure to allow her son go through the process, She had been on several occasions being harassed, attacked and sometimes in January 2019 the woman was assaulted but was saved by community members.
The house was also attacked on Saturday the 15th Day of June, 2019 after which they forcefully gained entrance to the house when the husband was not at home to abduct the child from the mother but was saved by passers-by who heard the loud voice of the mother at the point of this snatching.
