The former Zonal Chairman of Ijebu Ode Zone II of Road Transport Union Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Comrade Titilayo Efele has debunked allegations that he is planning to disrupt the peace of the State by parading himself as the Chairman of RTEAN.
In a release he personally signed, Efele said the rumour is the handiwork of some mischief makers who are bent in destroying his good image.
He said "My attention has been directed to a piece of news item in some online news media that my activities in the RTEAN in Ijebu Ode Zone of our great Association threatened the peace and I was parading myself as Chairman".
"I want to State categorically that since the Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun led administration has proscribed the activities of all road unions in the State I have not paraded myself as Chairman of RTEAN".
"The information was concorted by mischief makers who are bent on disparaging my good name in eyes of the good people of Ogun State".
"It is an open secret that I'm a loyalist of the administration of our amiable governor, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun, MFR".
"I want to urge the members of the public particularly the Caretaker Committee set up by the government to reform the activities of transport unions in the state to disregard the information in its entity. It was meant to set the government against me".
"If there's any nocternal activity that is inimical to the peace of the state and that might hamper the work of the Caretaker Committee it is the activities of the former State State Chairman of our Association, Alhaji Ahmed Kuku alias Aboki and his cohorts that threaten the peace, law and order in the State".
"It should be recalled that Alhaji Kuku had been removed as State Chairman of RTEAN since December 2018 by Vote of No Confidence moved against him".
"It should be further recalled that I was the Zonal Chairman of Ijebu Ode Zone II before the proscription".
"It is an open secret that Aboki and his co-travellers are backers of the defeated governorship candidate and part of their evil strategies is create crisis in the our Association to set the public against the new governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and destabilise the new administration".
While urging the piblic to ignore the misinformation, Efele said reiterated that it is the "concortion of the festering evil minds of the enemies of the new government in the state".
