Shortly after Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Festus Keyamo, was redeployed to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, some revelation has started to trickle in.
Though the details is still sketchy as we are still digging deep into sudden decision of the presidency to make such changes, less than two months after a new cabinet was constituted, this medium learnt that clash of interest between Minister of Niger Delta Godswill Akpabio and Keyamo.
The new directive has seen Minister of State of Labour Tayo Alasoadura move to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.
This was disclosed in a statement from the Director of Information at the Office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey.
Bassey said President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the swap.
Salient Times understands that the relationship between Keyamo and Godswill Akpabio, the minister of Niger Delta affairs, had been less than cordial.
It had been thought that Keyamo would be moved to ministry of justice as minister of state to assist Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general of the federation.
Malami had made efforts two weeks ago to have him redeployed to resolve the “civil war” between the duo but he was advised against it,
It is still unclear what the source of friction was between Akpabio and Keyamo.
Keyamo will now work under Chris Ngige, the minister of labour and employment.
