The burial ceremony which was carried out in Anoyo, the governor's hometown had in attendance two former Nigerian presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo and Good luck Jonathan alongside his wife, Patience (Mama Peace).
Political gladiators including the Vice-president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, former and present senate president, Bukola Saraki and Ahmed Lawal as well as former governor of Kano state, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and the three senators representing the state were sighted.
