Nigerian Popular Gospel artist, Tope Alabi has recently been trending over a dance video of her that had been on all social media platforms. In the video she is seen doing the popular Zanku dance and finishing off with a touch of gbesé. After the video was released a lot of people who believe the dance was unchristian-like, especially coming from Tope, took to social media to bash the artist and accuse her of following the ways of the world.
There has been so many call out over the video in the last two days, however, the artist has decided to clear the air today regarding the issue. In an interview she had on television today, the video was played and she was asked what the motivation for the dance was. And according to the artist, she had just buried her father, who died sometime in 2019 and she and her family were just simply celebrating a successful burial.
She further stressed that she was joyful that though it was a tough and trying time for her family, they still came out victorious, as according to her, "I am glad I buried my father and not the other way around. If you are a spiritual person you will understand why I needed that dance."
Her interview has successfully quenched some of the fire as more people are empathizing with her and urging her to dance like David danced in the Bible.
