Catholic Church Counsels People on COVID-19 Pandemic, Distributes Food Items to Less Privileged

As the total lockdown on COVID-19 takes full effect in Ogun state, the Catholic Church has  joined in encouraging the citizens to follow all government institutions and preventive strategies  to curtail the spread of the Corona virus. 


In a special broadcast  to the people of Ogun state, the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Ijebu-ode, Most Rev. Francis Olufemi Adesina said the church expressed sympathy and solidarity with the people at this time of global health  challenge caused by the Corona virus.

The Bishop commended government at all levels especially Ogun state government  under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun for positive actions towards protecting the health of the people.

Rt.Rev Francis Olufemi Adesina noted that the Catholic Church of Ijebu-ode as part of its community outreach program is reaching out to the people with relief materials to cushion the effect of the lock down as well as step up Sensitization campaign on the Virus among the citizens. .

While praying to God to halt the Pandemic and heal thee sick, the cleric appreciate all medical personnel, doctors, nurses and care givers for their efforts so far.. 

Meanwhile, the Bishop ijebu Ode Catholic Diocese, Most Rev Francis Olufemi ADESINA has commissioned the the Church and Society department to provide food items to the less privilefged in Ogun East Senatorial District to cushion the effect of the lockdown.
