The distribution of relief materials provided by the Ogun State Government, took off on Monday at Ipokia Local Government Area of the State.
The Chairman Transition Committee while flagging off the distribution at Ipokia Ward 1 said the materials were for the poor and the vulnerable in the local government
He said the gesture which is part of the government's intervention in ameliorating the effect of the Lockdown on the masses were packs of foodstuff like rice, beans Gaari, salt and sugar and many other ingredients.
Speaking at the flagoff in Oke Agbowo, the Chairman Hon. Abdulkabiru Abolurin said the gesture from the State Government was to assist them at this period of the lockdown occasioned by Coronavirus, rampaging the world.
He stated that the hitch-free commencement of the distribution of the relief materials, typified the persistent peace in Ipokia Local Government Area, adding that the people will continue to cooperate with the Governor in his efforts at developing the council area and the state in general.
The beneficiaries in their individual response thanked the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for remembering them, more importantly, by making the relief materials available and accessible to them as the less privileged component of the society.
Four Wards in the local government made up of Ipokia ward1 , Ipokia Ward 2, Maun ward 1 and Maun ward 2 are being covered in the first day of distribution of the relief materials.
The exercise continues on Wednesday in others wards of the council area.
The stratification in distribution of the relief materials , in the opinion of the Chairman 'is to avoid unnecessary anxiety and crowding in order to maintain a peaceful atmosphere for a successful outcome.
