Alternate medicine practitioners seek Gov Abiodun's support for modern equipment

The Ogun state alternate Medicine Practitioners have jointly requested for the support of the State Governor at facilitating the procurement of modern equipment that will further promote their practice  with dignity  and eventually turn the state as the largest  Producer of certified and qualitative  Herbal products in Nigeria.

 
This appeal for support  was made known during the 13th convocation  and graduation ceremony of the African College of Traditional Medicine ,held at the school compound,  Wasimi Ogun State.

One of the Board members of State Alternate Medicine,  Alhaji , Dr. Ajisope Aroyewun while addressing the graduands noted that,  time has come for all practitioners to embrace  modern way of processing their herbal products, saying  the Board would need the support of the  present administrartion to achieve its set objectives. He pointed out that,  present administration led  by Prince Dapo Abiodun has done alot in  improving the standerd of  Alternate medicine practice in the state.

He emphasized that nothing was special about all the imported  harbal Medicine or products they are producing, in tearms of Harbal Medicine that could  not be produced and packaged in a modern ways here so as to have more patronage, affirming that 75 per cent of materials being used  for all the imported Harbal products are  readily available in this country. He insisted that Africans as a whole and Nigerians in particular were still lacking behind in the area of modern packaging due to lack of  support  and inability to access the needed machines to process their products.


Speaking, the founder of the School , Chief Samson Soyoye, appreciated the State governor for providing the conducive business environment for Alternates Medicine practitioners in the state to operate, assuring that creation of Board would gavarnize and bring forth  acceptable  transformation and needed  Civilization that would  promote ease of practice for the wellbeing of the state.


Chief Soyoye appealed  to Governor Dapo Abiodun  to fully support the  sub-sector with adequate funding and provide them with 21st Century equipment that would showcase them as second to none in  Nigera. He referred to  the huge support government usually give to authodox Sector as a welcome development but saying that Governmwnt should balance it up in this regards and give adequate attention to them also in order to achieved the purpose of establishing  the Board in the state and to encourage  more younger people into the practices.

His words,

I Congratulates you all today, graduands of Alternate Medicine Practitionals and welcome you all to the field of practice that had been in existence well over 5000years ago by Samaritans  even before the birth of Jesus Christ and our school here, African College of Traditional Medicine  is a well recongnised Institution that certified by Federal Government of Nigeria some ten years ago. Alot of people have graduated from the school today and  they are successfully practicing   all over the country.

Also Speaking at the convocation , the College Legal Adviser, Barr.Thomas Adebowale ,who is also a practitioner of Alternate Medicine , Congratulated the state government for  its great achievement and dream  at repositioning alternate medicine practices in the state through by creation of Alternate medicine Board .

He noted that the world generally  had rediscovered  Alternate medicine practices as the best and natural way of taking care of  peoples health  challenges, emphasising that the  industry was lucrative  even more than the petroleum industry without stress if only government could pay more attentions and give due support to  practitioners to Excell

.
 One of the graduands , Reverend Father Paul Okorome, Commended the efforts of the State Government for transforming the Sub-sector in the state and  the founder of the African College of Traditional Medicine on the ways and manner the school was been managed without worshiping  or paying homage  to any deity or gods, commending the proprietor gifted ability at carying  out deep research in the  study of  Traditional Medicine successfully, promising to introduce the studies to many of his colleagues'  Reverend Fathers.


While re-counting there experiences  at the school, Mr and Mrs Omoegu Yusuf,  said the journey was really challenging  but with the interesting study outlines  which was simplified and made easy  to learn with uptimum attentions. He pointed out that due to his personal interest in the study  prompted  him to enroll his wife cermontaniously into the college, giving glory to God for granting  them the grace to excell   


He also  appealed to the  government at all levels in Nigeria  to support the sub - Sector with necessary equipment and enlighten the masses not to perceive  the field of Traditional Medicine as  evil practice but to see  the sector as natural way of improving health condition and as well as  process of  keeping African values and moral principles 



At the high of the event  12 graduating Students  from Africa College of Traditional Medicine qualified and  awarded certificates to practice alternate medicine for the wellbeing of humanity
