The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Global Ambassadors, (BATGAA) has reacted to the news making rounds about the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) claiming that popular presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) is not fit enough to be Nigeria’s next president.
The northern youth group had during a press conference held in Abuja recently expressed their objection to the aspiration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming that he has spent a few months in the UK last year, taking care of his health also noting that it doesn’t want a repeat of what happened to the late former president, Umar Musa Yar’Adua who died in the active service of the country.
In a swift reaction to the purported ambiguous allegation, BATGAA in a release signed by Titilope Ogunleye the Public Relations Officer of the group described the statement as unfounded and insignificant.
"The AYCF has failed to substantiate its claim. BAT has returned to Nigeria after a few months from the UK, hale and hearty and has been very loud with his campaign, moving from one state to another.
Bola Ashiwaju Tinubu had spent four consecutive days in different parts of the Northern states, making bold statements about his ambition to rule Nigeria.
It is worthy to note that President Muhammad Buhari is older than BAT and has spent 7 years ruling Nigeria without a prior experience of holding a public office in a democratic government.
Nigerians had the same fear that the northern youth group has expressed about PMB many years ago but he has erased the concerns.
President Joe Bidden of the USA is way older than Asiwaju Tinubu and has proven his critics wrong by being very effective as a leader of the world’s strongest economy.
We should be reminded of Zimbabwean president, Roberts Mugabe who was very active as the oldest African president till his death and Muammar Gaddafi of Libya who despite his alleged kidney problems still actively ruled Libya for decades.
“It is unarguable that the president of the most populous black nation, Nigeria must be someone who is vastly experienced in terms of economy, with proactive leadership skills and the ability to turn around the fortune of Nigeria and one man who fits into this position is the very popular Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT).
Going by his antecedents as the former governor of Lagos, BAT didn’t just turn around the economy of Lagos having taken her over from the ruins of the military junta but has also produced leaders who took over from him and retained Lagos as the center of excellence.”
Tinubu had last week informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to run for the Presidency in 2023.
The APC National Leader had informed the president that running for the Presidency was his lifelong aspiration and the transformation of Lagos into an economic hub tells what he will transform Nigeria into.
His antecedent in public office speaks of his good will. Lagos is forever transformed because of his legacies and that can not be swept under the carpet.
