Reactions have continued to trail the claim by a governorship aspirant of People's Democratic Party, PDP, Hon Ladi Adebutu that some youths in the Gateway State bought the governorship nomination form for him.

Adebutu had while featuring on a private radio station monitored in Abeokuta claimed that some residents of the State purchased his governorship nomination form for him in Abuja based on the trust they have on him.

His words, "Ogun residents bought the form for me, they told me to move on, if you see the picture when we went for collection of the form, the kind of crowd that accompany us to Abuja was massive.

"The Exco and the leaders of the Party contributed money for me and obtained the form.

"How much money does Lado have, what does Lado know, these leaders, they are the pilot of this vehicle, we had an agreement with them that we should work for the betterment of the State.

Speaking on why he did not reject the offer, Hon Adebutu said, "they saw many people and didn't give them the offer, you know where I came from, service is part of me, whenever I am called for good things, I am always at the forefront, that's my story.

Adebutu's claim is resonate of the recent call by former President Olusegun Obasanjo calling on Nigerians not to vote for politicians who claimed that youths bought form for them.

Obasanjo, who spoke at a colloquium to mark the 61st birthday of Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, said aspirants who tell Nigerians that some groups bought their forms for them should be avoided as they are only lying.

“Today, they are paying N40m. Some of them (aspirants) even said it is some youths who bought it for them,” Obasanjo said.

“In fact, anybody who would come out to tell you such a lie, you shouldn’t vote for him. Which youths gathered N40m? If you want to buy it, buy it and tell us. You don’t need to lie to us,” he added.

Also reacting to Adebutu's claim, a student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Nifemi Adesina said the politician has again revealed the kind of person he is as somebody who can not be trusted with the governance of the State.

"Imagine, somebody that we know was responsible for the purchase of the form, lying to us, no wonder Baba Obasanjo's warned that we should not vote for such a person.
