The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has apologised to Band A customers across Ogun, Oyo and Kwara states after several feeders failed to meet their mandated daily electricity supply hours on Monday.
Some of the affected feeders recorded zero hours of supply, with IBEDC attributing the disruptions to a combination of technical faults, load shedding, forced outages and disconnections over non-payment.
In a public announcement issued on Tuesday, the company said the affected customers did not receive their estimated hours of electricity supply because of operational challenges across the transmission and distribution networks.
It read, “The IBEDC management said. “We sincerely apologise for our inability to deliver the estimated hours of supply on your feeder.
“This was due to TCN forced outages, TCN load shedding, IBEDC forced outages, load shedding, overcurrent and earth faults, as well as disconnection for non-payment.”
Among the feeders that recorded no electricity supply was the Water Works (Ojere) 33kV feeder, which serves the Arakanga Water Scheme and Iberekodo in Abeokuta.

A similar situation affected the Moniya Railway 33kV feeder, which supplies the Moniya Train Station in Ibadan.
IBEDC said it “was still out on Disconnection due to Non-payment.”
The Joju 33kV feeder, serving Owode, Ajibode and Iya Ilogbo areas, also recorded a prolonged outage.
IBEDC said the feeder “was out on TCN Forced Outage due to breaker fault from 0000hrs – 2300hrs.”
Other Band A feeders recorded between 12 and 19 hours of supply because of equipment faults, load shedding and other disruptions.
The Oluyole 11kV feeder, serving Oluyole Estate, Johnson Awe, Sokan, Queen School Road, Alaro, Oluode and Ibadan Garage Roads, recorded 15 hours of supply.
IBEDC said, “Oluyole 11kV Feeder was out on IBEDC Forced Outage from 1200hrs – 1700hrs and it tripped on Over Current Fault from 1800hrs – 1900hrs.”
The Molete Industrial 33kV feeder, serving areas including Podo, Lagos/Ibadan Express Way, Akala Way and Ring Road, recorded 19 hours.
The company said it “tripped on Over Current and Earth Fault from 1400hrs – 1800hrs.”
The Express 33kV feeder, covering the Interchange Injection Substation, recorded 12 hours of supply after it “tripped on Over Current and Earth Fault from 0000hrs – 1100hrs.”
Similarly, the Eruwa Lanlate 33kV feeder, serving Olohuntumo, Owode Estate, Omi Adio, Zartech and Eruwa, supplied electricity for 19 hours.
IBEDC said it “tripped on Earth Fault from 1500hrs – 1600hrs and it tripped on Over Current from 2200hrs – 2300hrs.”
The Idofian 33kV feeder, which serves Afon Road, Ganmo, Amoyo, Jimba, Elerinjare, Gata, Idofian, Fufu, Okanle and Igbaja, also recorded 19 hours of supply after it “tripped on Over Current Fault from 1900hrs – 2300hrs.”
In Ogun State, the Ilaro 33kV feeder, serving Isofin Town, Akinbo Village, Papa Palace Road, Agodo, Asaobintin and Oke-Ela, recorded 17 hours.
IBEDC said, “Ilaro 33kV Feeder was out on TCN Load Shedding from 1000hrs – 1600hrs.”
The Water Works (Papalanto) 33kV feeder, which serves Sagamu Road, Papalanto and Iro Sango, also recorded 17 hours after it “was out on TCN Load Shedding from 1000hrs – 1600hrs.”
The Ijagba 33kV feeder, serving Unity and Peace, Ijagba, Odan, Kafidupe, Oko Ewe and Kings Estate, recorded 19 hours.
According to IBEDC, the feeder “was out on TCN Load Shedding from 1000hrs – 1400hrs.”
The Ogunmakin/Ajebo 33kV feeder also supplied 19 hours after it “tripped on Earth Fault from 1500hrs – 1900hrs.”
Other affected feeders included the Poly 11kV feeder, which recorded 15 hours of supply.
IBEDC said, “Poly 11kV Feeder was out on IBEDC Load Shedding at 1400hrs and it tripped on Earth Fault from 1600hrs – 2300hrs.”
The Makun Commercial 33kV feeder also recorded 15 hours after it “tripped on Earth Fault from 0000hrs – 0800hrs.”
Giving an update on restoration, IBEDC said most of the affected feeders had been restored as of Tuesday, while three feeders remained without supply for reasons stated in the announcement.
“Kindly note that the mentioned feeders have been restored except Water Works (Ojere) 33kV feeder while Moniya Railway and Railway (Papa) 33kV feeders are still out due to disconnection,” the company said.
IBEDC, however, reaffirmed its commitment to meeting the expected supply hours for customers.
“We remain committed to delivering the estimated hours of supply,” the management said.
