It was free for all on Monday night when supporters of two governorship aspirants Dapo Abiodun and Adekunle Akinlade clashed.
The clash occurred while the meeting between members of National Electoral Committee of the All Progressives Congress meant to conduct the direct primary in Ogun state and governorship aspirants was on going .
It was gathered that the eight-man delegate arrived the state around 7:45pm and converged for an emergence meeting around 10:15pm at the MITROS annex hotel at Ibara GRA,in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The Committee members had a short discussion with newsmen after which they later held a closed door meeting with the governorship aspirants and the state executives.
While the meeting was going on within the hall, some people believed to be political thugs who came with the governorship aspirants stayed outside .
After few moment the supporters/thugs clashed and turned the area to a war- torn zone with sporadic gunshots .
Other persons who were outside the venue including journalists scampered for safety while the governorship aspirants also ended the meeting abruptly .
Earlier before the violence, the Chairman of the electoral committee Muhammed Indabawa who led his other seven members of the committee to the state told journalists, members of the APC state executives and aspirants present at the meeting that he has all the necessary materials and document for the conduct of the primary election which will usher in the candidates of the party in the state.
