The Provost, Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), Omu-Ijebu, Ogun State, Dr. Lukmon Adeola Kiadese has warned the Coalition of the Tai Solarin College of Education (COTAS), against disrupting the academic work of the college, as against the promise made by the governor-elect to personally visit the institution and find last solutions to the lingering crisis that engulfed the institution.
Kiadese made this warning at the College campus, Omu-Ijebu, while the Coalition mobilized its members, led by Chairman of the group, Comrade Daniel Aborisade to disrupt academic works at of the campus, despite the passionate appeal made by the governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
He said that the group attacked some lecturers willing to resume work after some months of shunning classes, noting that those lecturers had embarked on strike action months ago, and all appealed made to them proved abortive, as they remain hellbent.
He added that they locked out some lecturers willing to resume work while some in lecture rooms was attacked and wounded while scamper for safety, noting that those outlaw group were targeting to molest, maim, and wound those defied their orders.
Kiadese said that the governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun has waded into the matter when the group paid a courtesy visit to the goveror-elect at his residence, Iperu Remo, Ogun State, saying that government was working assiduously to pay their backlog salary arrears and other outstanding demands.
He added that some of the group were not members of the College but were hired to disrupt the academic work of the college, adding that the Chairman of the Coalition, Daniel Aborisade were hired thugs and criminals to maim the lecturers that wanted to back to lecture room for academic session.
"I see no reason why those outlaw and unrecognised body will be disrupting and distorting academic staff of the college for no reason, and have assured them that their demand will be met as soon as state subvention is remitted and while the Internally Generated Revenue is realized," Kiadese emphasized.
Kiadese appealed to the governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun to give those outlaw group a marching order to put enough to thuggery, blackmailing and harassing the lecturers that were willing to work, adding that he has no moral operandi to be holding on to their salaries and other benefits.
He added that the incessant disruption of the academic works in the campus by those coalition had reached a peak where students on the campus were no more save, as thugs and miscreants were walking freely at the institution on orders of those outlaw and unrecognised group.
