Tension is now brewing in Gbagura town of Abeokuta following the alleged irregularities in the selection process of the next Agura of Gbagura Abeokuta
It was gathered that some members of the Egiri ruling House were unhappy with the procedure adopted by the Rtd.Justice Demola Bakre O.O.N who is the head of Egiri ruling House as being filed with errors and irregularities
They alleged that by 'craftly initiating 12 man committee at its meeting held on Thursday 25th April 2019, the rtd justiceerred and was therefore removed as the head of Egiri ruling House.
In a communique issued at the end of an emergency meeting of Gbagura royal Princes held at Egiri ruling house chambers Oke Ido Gbagura Abeokuta Friday 3rd May 2019, jointly signed by representatives of the different ruling Egiri family namely Jamolu Ijaade Adeosun and Abolade, the family noted the alleged autocratic tendencies of the Rtd .Justice Ademola Bakre and therefore remove him as the head of the family.
"To prevent break down of law and order, we wish to draw the attention of the Ogun state government and the good indigens of Gbagura Abeokuta to the present ugly situation".
"Havig consulted with larger family of this unhealthy development the Egiri ruling house therefore issued a 3page communique stating the state of things and the decisions of the ruling Egiri family with 9 points that include the steps of rtd Justice Ademola Bakre, who was said to be using his position as the head of Egiri ruling house to stage manage the selection process in all manners contrary to the laid down procedure".
The communique also accused "Justice Ademola Bakre of organising a ritual consultation of ifa Oracle to effect his abberant decision of selecting one Prince Saburi Babajide Bakre a nephew of his being the son of his senior brother among others".
The Egiri ruling house in the communique jointly signed by Prince Adeola Adeyemi (ijaade family) Prince Waheed Adeosun (Egiri family Secretary)Prince Sufian Soetan (jamolu)Prince Adam Opeloyeru (Abolade family)and Imam Jamiu Ogunwolu (ijaade family) the Egiri ruling house "therefore declared that rtd justice Ademola Bakre has been removed as the head of Egiri ruling house with immediate effect".
