Hundreds of residents of Omifunfum Estate in the early hours of Saturday woke up to the sporadic shooting of a gang of armed robbers who left with an unspecified amount of money and killed an alarmist who was accused of disturbance.
An eye witness told our Correspondent that the hoodlums numbering 10 were infuriated by the action of a business man who was Shouting and blowing whistles that robbers have invaded the estate.
The hoodlums were reported to have concentrated on the residence of the 60 year old man identified as Chief Abayomi Robert and shot him dead
The robbers also carted away telephone sets and electronics belonging to him and members of his family.
Security guard watching the estate were reported to have fled immediate the robbers arrived at the community ,it was learnt.
The marauders dared any bold person in the commumity to come out and challenge them and lose his life.
Our Correspondent learnt that the body of the slain bussiness man was later taken to the nearest morgue ...
The incident was later reported at Ojoo Igbooloyin Police Division which was said to be investigating the matter.
The Oyo State Police Spokesman,Superintendent Gbenga Fadeyi said"they have not sent the report to us o."He promised to call back.
He could not be reached when our man tried him back ditto the state police commissioner.
It was learnt that some night guards in the area have been invited by police for questioning.
