The Ogun State chapter of Labour Party has expressed confidence in the reconstituted Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in the state.
The party in a letter signed by its factional Secretary, Oginni Olaposi and addressed to the Appeal Court President, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa said it believe that every petitioner should have no preference of justices and members of panel who are to sit on one's case.
It would be recalled that, controversies trailed the appointment of Justice Josephine Coker led panel following the dissolution of the former tribunal led by Justice Chinwe Onyeabor.
The party however, promised to work with any justice or panel whatsoever reconstituted in good faith by the Appeal Court.
Labour Party further took a swipe at other petitioners condemning the Justice Coker led panel, saying it is erroneous for a petitioner or group of persons to insinuate any misgiving or wrong accusation against the newly constituted panel.
"Ogun Labour Party with petition number EPT/OG/GOV/02/2019 is in total support of the newly constituted panel as directed by Your lordship.
"Recognizing the fact that judiciary is the last hope of common man, we have total believe that every petitioner should have no preference of justices and members of panel who are to sit on one's case. Therefore, we Ogun Labour Party are ready to work with any justice or panel whatsoever reconstituted in good faith by Your Lordship.
"We hereby call on Your Lordship to disregard any form of petition insinuated to harass or discredit the newly constituted governorship election petition tribunal in Ogun State."
