Residents of Effurun in Warri; Delta state in the south-south region of Nigeria has decried the increase of the activities of the people engaging in same sex practice.
The menace which has been on the increase has posed a major threat in the Nigerian and African culture at large.
Our correspondent who visited the region reported that traditional chiefs and community leaders in the region have condemned the practice in its entirety.
While speaking to our correspondent, Aderoyeje Oluwatosin in Warri, the business hub of Delta state, High Chief Omatseye Ovikuromah said it is very disgraceful that African children brought in the African way have totally forgotten the genuinety of the cultures and traditions of the African race and spontaneously followed very keenly the ingenuinety brought to this part of the world by the western colonialist.
He lamented that governments in some nations in the Western world legalized same sex relationship/marriage, forgetting the principles of the doctrines brought to Africa by the Greeks who are the early literates.
Bishop Perekebina Evans simply described the act as an indication of the end time.
He said its unbelievable and ungodly that people after reading the story of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible and also read hoe God dealt with them decisively.
When contacted on the telephone, the Nigeria police spokesman; Mr. Frank Mba lamented the increase in the numbers of people in the irritating act.
He stressed the need for parents to teach their children in the ways of the Lord as the Bible says, so that when they grow up, they will not depart from it.
He urged the general public to help rid the society of people living with questionable character.
He also said the police force has taken another step by rewarding people who reports anyone suspected to engage in the act.
He further said anyone with useful informations on how people wanted in relating to acts of gay and bisexuality.
