Kwara State Government has debunked rumours flying around that the twenty-seven vehicles recently purchased were faily-used and not new.
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of works and Transport Dr Yusuf Garba Manjo in a statement on Thursday said the Hilux vans given to the State Fire Service by Governor AbdulRasaq AbdulRahman are brand new and not refurblished or old as been rumoured about.
The statement by his Press Secretary, Hajia Mansurat Amuda Kannike said Dr. Manjo made this known while addressing a group of stakeholders in his office
He emphasized that the fire service operational vehicles were bought new and not fairly used or accidental vehicles that where repainted.
Recently, an online medium reported that
vehicles recently procured for some agencies of government are majorly accidental and Nigerian fairly used vehicles that were repainted to look like new ones.
According to the faceless source, it was alleged that most of the vehicles paraded were bought at a very cheap rate from different locations in lagos state. The writer also said the two damaged buses used by the wife of immediate past governor of the state, Deaconess Omolewa Ahmed was also repackaged and presented to Kwara United Football Club.
Dr. Manjo called on the general public to disabuse such fake news that could tarnish the good image of the Government and embrace Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasak's vision towards the development of Kwara state.
