The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday declared that for the first time in the history of the capital city, residents can feel and touch the impact of governance under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Wike assured that the FCT would experience more developments under Tinubu’s tenure.
He spoke during the inauguration of roads in Gaduwa District of the FCT to mark Tinubu’s third year in office.
The minister insisted that almost all districts of the capital city are feeling the impact of governance with projects being witnessed.
He said: “Your Excellency you will recollect that in August when you appointed the Minister of State and myself as Minister of the FCT, you did say that every district of the FCT must have the attention of the government, no district must be left without having the impact of the government.
“Yesterday by the Grace of God, you were in Kwali to commission the Gomani-Dafa-Yangoji roads and today you are in the Gaduwa district, we have been to Jahi, Gwarimpa, Katampe, and virtually all the districts and no district would say that they have not felt the impact of this administration unlike what used to be.”
Wike noted that with the prompt release of budget by the National Assembly, his administration is carrying out Tinubu’s directives.
“We have backed action by making sure that through the National Assembly that the budget of the FCT gets proper attention, passed into law, and assented to and released for us to be able to carry out the directives that you have given.
“I’m sure that it has never been so in the history of the FCT where citizens and residents can now feel and touch the impact of governance, this is the first time.
“And we believe that God being on our side and with your continuous support, FCT will see more developments in your tenure,” he added.
